New Patients
Positive Patient Experiences from Day One
With its warm atmosphere, our clinic invites patients of all ages to come in and experience the difference that excellent service makes. We offer comprehensive general dentistry services and cosmetic and restoration procedures.
At The Bay Dental, patient care is our most important priority. We aim to provide the most comfortable and effective dental care based on advanced techniques and state-of-the-art technology.
What to Expect at Your First Dental Appointment
Your first appointment is our chance to get to know all about you and help you feel confident in our team and our practice.
Every new patient receives a comprehensive exam so we can get to know your unique dental health needs, collect a medical and dental history, and learn more about you and your preferences. During this appointment, we will examine your teeth, gums, and other areas of your mouth, throat and neck for any health conditions.
This important screening method is part of our preventative approach to dentistry. We want to detect any issues as early as possible so we can design a treatment plan accordingly.
Why Your Medical and Dental History is Important
To ensure we deliver the highest quality care, we need to know about any significant health conditions, allergies, or medication sensitivities you may have. Please disclose these to us during your comprehensive examination so we can get to know you better. A complete picture of your medical and dental history enables us to recommend appropriate treatments that best fit your needs.
Our Goal for Patients
At The Bay Dental, we aim to improve both your smile and your overall health. Specifically, we want to ensure you are satisfied with your visit and feel valued as our patient.
We get to know our patients to ensure that we accommodate any special requests, which can turn an ordinary visit into an extraordinary one. We’re proud to say that an overwhelming majority of new patients become long-term patients of the practice.
The New Patient Experience
We aim to make your first visit to our practice a welcoming experience. We have a patients’ lounge where you will get to know your care nurse, who will take your medical and dental history. Once you get to know each other, you will meet your dentist and discuss any issues or concerns regarding your dental health.
During the comprehensive exam, we will carry out a 12-point health check to assess the health of your mouth and gums. It’s no longer necessary to book in to see a dentist before seeing a hygienist, so if you want an appointment with one of the hygiene team only, we can arrange that for you.
